War in Ukraine: Ten explosions in Kyiv – Information that a hotel was destroyed

Air raid sirens sounded at Kyiv on Saturday, with reports of ten explosions. Earlier, the governor of its capital district UkrainianOleksii Kuleba, earlier warned of the possibility of a missile attack, saying that air defense systems had been activated.

“The country of terrorists carried out several waves of missile attacks. They wish us a Happy New Year, but we will persevere”Kuleba wrote on his Telegram account.

In the western Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi, two people were injured in the drone attackaccording to an adviser to the Ukrainian presidency.

From his side, Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that explosions were heard in the city in a post on the Telegram application and clarified that there were explosions in a residential area, in the capital’s Solomiansky district, and other explosions in two other parts of the city.

However, he did not specify what caused the explosions.

As the official of the Ukrainian presidency wrote on Telegram, a hotel in Kyiv was destroyed by an explosionwhile Ukrainian officials spoke of a massive Russian missile attack.

As Kirill Tymoshenko wrote, emergency services are heading to the scene of the explosion.
