THE Ukraine will fight to a bloody victory, but the Russian invasion will end with diplomacy, said the Ukrainian Volodymyr Zelensky in an hour-long interview on Ukrainian television to mark his third birthday as president.
“We didn’t start this war. But we have to finish it,” Zelensky said in the interview, which was taped on Friday (20) and broadcast this Saturday (21).
“Victory will be bloody in battle. But the end will be in diplomacy. We want it all back. THE Russia doesn’t want to give anything away,” he said.
The broadcast also included an interview with Zelensky’s wife, Olena Zelenska, who said the war did not change her husband. “I can’t say he’s changed. He was a reliable husband and man, and he continues to be,” she said. But the First Lady regretted not being able to see him for months.
“Our family, like all Ukrainian families, is divided. We haven’t seen each other in two and a half months, we’ve only spoken on the phone. Thank you for this opportunity [esta entrevista]because we’re spending time together now – it’s a TV date,” he said.
