Images published on social media show the moment the airship with the symbol of São Paulo Futebol Clube took off, which crashed in the early afternoon of this Wednesday (25) in Osasco.
There is no confirmation of where the equipment took off from.
Watch the takeoff:
The balloon crashed around noon on Avenida Célio Veloso, in Jardim Veloso. According to Civil Defense, one victim was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). The victim’s health condition is considered mild.
According to São Paulo FC, the airship was undergoing a test on Wednesday morning in preparation for a flight that would take place tonight and which, according to the club, was authorized by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).
The equipment would fly over the Morumbi stadium region during the match between São Paulo and Botafogo for the Copa Libertadores da América, scheduled for 9:30 pm.
What the club says:
“São Paulo FC regrets the incident that occurred with the airship leased from Airship do Brasil Indústria e Serviços Aéreos SA. The company had already provided this same service to the Club during the Copa do Brasil final in 2023, without any incidents.
The aircraft was undergoing a test this morning in preparation for the night flight, previously authorized by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), which was scheduled for the stadium region.
The Club informs that, fortunately, there were no serious injuries and is providing all necessary support to the crew and others involved.”
