We are working on four points of the PEC of the precatório, says the rapporteur

The rapporteur of the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) of the Precatório, senator Fernando Bezerra (MDB-PE), stated this Wednesday afternoon (1) that four points are being analyzed together with the economic team of the government and the House Civil for text approval.

Bezerra even said that the idea was to hold the vote this Wednesday (1st) after the vote on André Mendonça’s nomination for the STF. But, during the vote on Mendonça, the senators decided to transfer the vote of the PEC to this Thursday (2).

According to the rapporteur, the expenses that will be allocated in the budget are the subjects of conversations with the government.

The first point, said Bezerra, is in relation to the expenses of the new Auxílio Brasil, in addition to expenses in the areas of social security, health and social assistance.

The second point under discussion, according to the rapporteur, is the overturning of the Chamber’s bill that provided for the securitization of the debt. This question can be taken from the text.

Another point is the removal of the ceiling on expenses related to the precatory of the Fund for the Maintenance and Development of Elementary Education and the Valorization of Teaching (FUNDEF).

According to Bezerra, with this removal, more space will be opened within the sub-ceiling so that payments for food precatory orders are complied with.

And the last point is the discussion of the R$ 44 billion sub-ceiling. In the original proposal, the sub-ceiling would be maintained until 2036. With the change, it would be maintained until 2026.

With that, Congress could oversee the management of court orders, he said. The senator highlighted that court orders could reach up to 1% of GDP in 2022.
