Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the World Economic Forum in St Petersburg today, said there was no need to use nuclear weapons to achieve Moscow’s victory in Ukraine, the strongest signal yet from the Kremlin chief that he would not there is a nuclear strike. Putin, whose forces have advanced into eastern Ukraine in recent months, said he did not see the conditions for using such weapons and asked the world to stop discussing the nuclear issue.
