The CEO of PretaHub and founder of Feira Preta Adriana Barbosa argues that the agenda of racial equity needs to be addressed not only with the issue of civil rights, but also from an economic perspective.
She was at the World Economic Forum, which took place in Davos, Switzerland, last week.
“This should be a topic that Brazil should even defend to claim space, address social mobility through employability, blacks in leadership positions, in addition to the entrepreneurial issue, if you talk about the post-Covid recovery, looking at small businesses”, he said, The CNN Radio on CNN No Plural.
PretaHub is a platform that establishes processes for the emancipation of the black population through entrepreneurship.
“From education, access to credit, market opening, with systemic processes that create a favorable environment for the black population to leave entrepreneurship out of necessity.”
In Davos, Adriana stated that activists placed the racial issue as an agenda that should be a priority in the next forum.
“Obviously with territorial specificities, but with the fight for equitable processes”, he said.
The activist highlighted that social entrepreneurship helps in the equity process.
“It brings the insertion of black people into the companies,” he said.
However, she made the caveat that this also needs to be taken into government positions and large corporations.
