What was discussed at the Mitsotakis meetings with senior executives of Google and Meta

Kyriakos Mitsotakis met this afternoon with the President of Google for activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Matt Brittin.

The meeting discussed the prospect of increasing Google’s investments in our country, the wider utilization of tools that Google already has in Greece for digital training and entrepreneurship programs, especially in the field of tourism, as well as the company’s plans for underground cables that will connecting Europe, Asia and the Middle East (Blue Submarine Cable System).

The Prime Minister had an earlier meeting with Meta President for International Affairs Nick Clegg. During the meeting, they exchanged views on technological developments, the future of the internet and the opportunities that arise. In this context, it was noted that Greece can play a key role in promoting innovation in Europe.

During his presence in Davos, the Prime Minister visited the Greek House Davos, which promotes Greece as an investment destination, highlights Greek entrepreneurship and highlights the role of Greece in Europe and in the world.

“I think it is a very important initiative, which is in line with the general change of the image of the country and its upgrading. A reality that is felt everywhere and it is very important that we can have a presence, a meeting place,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis .

“After all, the usefulness of Davos is not only our public appearances, it is mainly the meetings and contacts that take place around the activities that are part of the official program. So know that the government will continue to support this initiative,” Kyriakos continued. Mitsotakis added: “You are also putting your stone in a total effort to change the image of the country, attract investment and upgrade Greece politically and economically.”
