As every year Whatsappthe most used messaging platform in the world, remove the support to a more or less long series of old smartphone models. In particular, to those who use certain particularly obsolete versions of Android or iOS and that they are not upgradable to newer versions (for apps, the operating system makes the difference, not the phone model which, however, may have hardware constraints for updating).
Simply, for those who still use – perhaps as a second phone – a smartphone that cannot be updated to at least Android 4.1 Lollipop or iOS 12, Whatsapp it will stop working. We are talking about operating systems that date back in the first case to about ten years ago and in the second to five years ago and which are not able to guarantee the security standards in data transmission required by the Meta application. Last year, in fact, it was the turn of Android 4.0 and iOS 9.0, this year of their successors at the time.
Among the best known devices in the following list, and which includes the models where WhatsApp can no longer be used, there are the old iPhones 5 and 5Cmany LG models (as is known, the South Korean brand has been out of the telephone business for over a year) and mid-range and very old models from Samsung, Htc, Sony and ZTE.
