Fujifilm has announced the date for its next X Summit, at which the company will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the X System and release a new camera for that system. The event will take place online in May 2022.
Yesterday, January 9th, it was ten years since Fujifilm announced its first interchangeable lens mirrorless camera. Along with the X-Pro1, the first lenses of this system were presented: the XF18mmF2 R, XF 35mmF1.4 R and XF60mmF2.4 R Macro. Fujifilm’s X system now has 28 cameras and roughly the same number of lenses, including the XF1.4x TC WR and XF2x TC WR teleconverters.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the X-mount, the manufacturer will publish several videos featuring photographers from around the world using Fujifilm X cameras and will host a photography competition. The manufacturer did not disclose details about the new camera, confining itself to assurances that the fifth generation camera “will be a further development of the X series, based on the experience of the last 10 years.”
