Peter Coronha He is only 26 years old, but his resume has included work at renowned restaurants both in Brazil and abroad. Graduated in gastronomy from Alain Ducasse’s old school in Rio, the young man started out as a cook at restaurants such as Eleven Rio and the Eleven Lisbon .
In 2019, he was an intern at Noma in Copenhagen, recognized as one of the best restaurants in the world. Back on national soil in 2021, he was in charge of Mask and caught the attention of specialist critics.
The young chef now runs his own business, the recently opened Koral in Ipanema, where it serves modern food with influences from South American, Nordic and Asian cuisines. The two-story mansion has 500 m², 97 seats and an open kitchen, from where the menu focuses on local ingredients from the land and sea.

Clan BBQ
In Leblon, Clan BBQ is a place for those who like everything that involves fire. The restaurant serves a great burger (R$62), which is served on a brioche bun toasted on the grill, a blend of flank steak, cheddar cheese and homemade sauce.
The meat options are also good choices, as the menu features premium cuts such as flank steak, flank steak and even wagyu.

Grado Restaurant
For me, Grado serves the best Italian food in Rio de Janeiro. The restaurant operates on a three-course set menu system: starter, main course and dessert (R$198). The chef is behind the cooking pots Nello Garaventa which is also the name behind its younger brother Padella Trattoria, in Botafogo.
In addition to the food, I would like to highlight the extremely welcoming atmosphere at Grado, which occupies a charming mansion in Jardim Botânico.

NAGA Rio
Inside the Village Mall shopping mall, in Barra da Tijuca, Naga is a contemporary Japanese restaurant that always delivers an excellent standard of quality.
The sushi bar has a variety of items, including combinations, tartare, ceviche, hot dishes and some special orders. In addition to the snacks, the drinks are created by the mixologist. Alex Mesquita and the atmosphere extends to the balcony and into a lounge with recurring musical programming.

Pope Ipanema

With an Italian-Mediterranean feel, Pope is a gastropub that serves great pizzas and has great signature and classic drinks, all in a relaxed atmosphere in Ipanema. The round drinks include flavors like truffled mushroom, margherita, pepperoni and four cheeses.
From the menu, my highlight is also the ossobuco lasagna (R$88), which is wood-fired with ossobuco ragu, grana padano fondue and rôti sauce.

Princess Bar

Princesa serves good bar food and has interesting options on the executive menu. Among the bar delights, think of octopus in vinaigrette, soups, pastries, pies and fish and steak dishes to share, as well as draft beer, of course.
The executive menu (R$72) is served from Monday to Thursday, from 11:30 am to 4 pm, and includes a starter, main course and dessert of the day. Stroganoff, stew, roast beef with spaghetti and pork leg are among the main options.
