The trailer for “Gladiator 2” a film that follows on from the 2000 production, had its trailer released this Tuesday (9). The plot is set 25 years after the first work and will have a new protagonist.
The production hits Brazilian cinemas on November 14. See below who’s who in Ridley Scott’s new feature film.

Paul Mescal is Lucius
Actor Paul Mescal plays Lucius, who is the main character in the new film. Son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus, Lucius was inspired by Maximus, the protagonist of “Gladiator” (2000).
When he was still young, Lucilla sent him to the northern coast of Africa, to a region called Numidia which was – at that time – beyond the reach of the Roman Empire. When he was older, he lives a relatively peaceful life with his wife and children until the conquerors of his homeland invade his new home.

Peter Pascal is the Roman general who leads the army that invades Numidia.

Denzel Washington is Macrinus
Macrinus, played by Denzel Washington, is a very wealthy arms dealer who uses and pays the gladiators.

Actress Connie Nielsen returns to play Lucilla, Lucius’ mother.

Joseph Quinn is Emperor Geta
Known for his roles in “Stranger Things” and “A Quiet Place: Day One,” Joseph Quinn plays the Roman Emperor Geta in “Gladiator 2.”

The “White Lotus” actor will play the Roman emperor Caracalla.
