Kepnes added that while he understands that perhaps Badgley’s natural charm is one of the main reasons many of the show’s fans end up loving Joe, it’s important to differentiate between fiction and reality, especially when talking about a character. who stalks, kidnaps and attacks the people he claims to love.
There are parts of Joe that are good, which Penn manages to mirror, but those parts are at war with his desire to control everyone around him. The ‘good boy’ is much more horrible than the bad boy.
