O It's All True festival 2024 ends this Saturday (13). The international documentary screening event will end its 29th edition with the awards of the competition winners.
Closing will be at Brazilian Cinematheque in the city of São Paulo, with free entry and open to the public.
Tickets will be distributed to the public at the box office, one hour before the start of the event, which is scheduled for 7pm.
From 7pm onwards, the winners of the following categories will be announced: Best Brazilian Feature/Medium Film, Best International Feature/Medium Film, Best Brazilian Short Film and Best International Short Film.
The jury for the Brazilian É Tudo Verdade competition is made up of documentary filmmaker Edileuza Penha de Souza, sound editor Miriam Biderman and filmmaker Walter Lima Jr.
To evaluate the international titles, Brazilians Helena Solberg and Sérgio Tréfaut were selected, as well as British filmmaker and critic Mark Cousins.
According to the organization of the documentary festival, the awards are recognized by Los Angeles Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – responsible for Oscar . In this way, winning a category in It's All True can make the title eligible to be considered for a nomination in the Feature Documentary and Short Film categories at the Oscars.
During the closing of the festival, three other parallel awards will also be announced: the Canal Brasil Short Film Award, the Mistika Award and the EDT Award.
After the awards ceremony, the film will premiere “Luiz Melodia – In the Heart of Brazil “, at 8:30 pm. The feature film about one of Brazil's main singers was made by director Alessandra Dorgan.
