THE China responded to their announcement USA about diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics. The embassy of the country in Washington on Monday (6/12) rejected what the Americans supported, talking about “pretense act” and “political manipulation” that “will have no impact on the successful conduct of the Games”.
“No invitation has been given to US politicians, so this ‘diplomatic boycott’ is just coming out of nowhere,” said a spokesman for the Chinese embassy. Liu Pengyu, at the agency Reuters.
“Such a sham act is just a political manipulation and a serious distortion of the spirit of the Olympic Ideal. “In fact, no one would care if these people came or not, and it has absolutely no effect on the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics to be a success,” the embassy spokesman said.
The Winter Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from 4 to 20 February in Beijing.
