With Selic at 12.75%, how much does it yield to invest BRL 1,000 in savings, treasury or fund

A survey carried out by Michael Viriato, strategist at Casa do Investidor, for the CNN Brasil Business about how much an application of R$ 1 thousand with the new basic interest rate (12.75%) pointed out that both in the short and long term, the Medium bank CDB is the best option .

According to the study, the best application considers 110% of CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate), a security issued in operations carried out between banking institutions.

The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) decided for the 10th consecutive time to raise the Selic rate to 12.75%. The Central Bank opted, at its third meeting of 2022 – this Wednesday (4), for a 1 percentage point increase.

In this way, the yields of the main fixed income investments change. Considering an investment of R$ 1 thousand in the CDB of an average bank – the best option – over six months, for example, the value at the end of the period is R$ 1,052.54; of 30 months, R$ 1,322.43.

And the worst investment is savings, with a yield of R$ 1,036.19 in the short term and R$ 1,194.56 in the long term.
