“Immediate and positive was the response of the competent services, to the request of the Panhellenic Land Freight Trade Union, which forwarded the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the Minister of State G. Gerapetritis for regulation in the national legislation regarding the permissible transport announcement of the chamber.
More analytically, in a reply letter to EBEP it is noted, among other things, that “after consultation with the competent services of the General Secretariat of Infrastructure, it emerged that the height of the bridges allows the passage of trucks with containers over 4.20 meters, we will proceed immediately in the modification of the relevant decision, in order to satisfy the request of the Panhellenic Trade Union of Land Freight “.
As noted in the announcement of EBEP, as for the height limit, in the European Directive there is an exception for the transport of containers 20 feet with a height of 2.90m, something that is not specified by our national legislation, a fact that caused the relevant intervention of the chamber.
