With website down, Americanas leads falls among Ibovespa shares

Americanas’ common shares (AMER3) led the Ibovespa’s declines at the end of the morning of this Monday (21), with a 4.12% decrease around 11:30 am, quoted at R$ 32.33.

The movement of assets reflected the fact that the company’s website had been offline for more than 24 hours. The Submarino website, controlled by the company, was also down.

The retailer has issued two announcements so far. In the first, released in the early hours of Saturday, the company reported that it had preventively suspended part of the servers as soon as it identified an attempt at unauthorized access, but that “there is no evidence of compromise of the databases”.

The second stated that the company “proactively again suspended part of the servers in the e-commerce environment at dawn this Sunday and promptly triggered its response protocols as soon as it identified unauthorized access”.

Physical stores did not have their activities interrupted. However, the company’s applications, tested by CNN Brasil Businessthey even open the initial interface, but when any product is searched, the information appears on the screen: no results found.
