Brazil registered 137 deaths and 3,645 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This Thursday (23), the moving averages of deaths and infections were 119 and 3,090, respectively.
With the update, the country has a total of 618,228 deaths and 22,226,573 confirmed infections since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The data released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) showed changes due to the unavailability of the Ministry of Health’s information systems, according to Conass.
At least four states did not report data on the pandemic: Bahia, Goiás, Paraíba and Tocantins.
Public consultation
The Ministry of Health should open this Thursday a public consultation that will collect manifestations from civil society on vaccination against Covid-19 in children aged 5 to 11 years. The Pfizer vaccine for this age group was recently authorized by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). Read more.
Second antiviral approved in the US
The Food and Drug Administration, an agency similar to Anvisa in the United States, authorized this Thursday (23) the antiviral drug from MSD (Merck) for Covid-19. The decision comes a day after the agency gave the green light to similar treatment by Pfizer. Read more.
