The babies would come to enlarge the family, since the couple already has six-year-old twins. However, several were struck by the fact that there were only photographs of the couple, but not a single one of the children who, supposedly, had been brought to the incubator once they were born.
It was a very strange case
The South African authorities were struck by the case and began to investigate where the babies were or where they had been taken after leaving the hospital, because through social networks, a call was made for them to help them both with maintenance and with the expenses that the children had, and the people agreed to deposit money and give them supplies.
However, no hospital was aware of a woman who had given birth to 10 babies. In addition, a woman named Sibongile Gxwkwa appeared and claimed to be the real wife of the man who appeared as Gosiame’s partner and commented that they already have three children and that in the last year, he did not contribute a penny in support.
They are already wanted for government fraud
It is not known who the couple is and, according to the authorities, Gosiame was never pregnant and everything was a montage of both means to extract money from people of good will on the pretext that they needed to cover the expenses of the babies. This was explained by the director of the South African National Department of Health in a statement.
The results of our preliminary investigation confirmed once again that there were no decuples at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Furthermore, at the Tshwane District Hospital there is also no record of a twin delivery, much less 10 babies.
The authorities managed to find Gosiame and did physical and psychiatric examinations, which revealed that she never had 10 children, in fact, she was not even pregnant, so people were immediately called to stop sending donations.
Faced with such action, the South African government took legal action against the media and the couple. Only the director of Pretoria News, Piet Rampedi, offered an apology and acknowledged that they did not investigate the facts, on the contrary, they only thought it was a beautiful story, so they published the note without confirming anything. For now, the couple will be forced to return the supports they had already received.
