Women in the US go on ‘sex strike’ after abortion rights are annulled

American women threaten not to have sex with men in protest of the Supreme Court’s decision to abolish the constitutional right to abortion, on June 24.

Since the Supreme Court struck down the landmark Roe v. Wade, which gave women in the United States the right to terminate a pregnancy, several states have signed bills to ban abortion, regardless of the circumstances, including if they are at risk of death or are victims of a crime of sexual abuse. .

Since then, hundreds of demonstrations have been held in different cities of the country. The debate on the controversial decision of the Court also took place on social networks. The hashtags abstinence (Abstinence) Y sex-strike (Sex Strike) were trending on Twitter in the US this weekend.

Ladies, if you’re having a hard time with #sexstrike and #abstinence, just imagine Mitch McConnell naked.

Women of America, get engaged. Because the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, we cannot risk an unwanted pregnancy. Therefore, we will not have sex with any men, including our husbands, unless we are trying to get pregnant. #SexStrike

Maybe a #sexstrike (also known as #abstinence) would help men get involved in this issue of #women’s rights.

During the series of protests covered by the new york post in New York City, a woman said she will not have sex with any man who is not willing to undergo a vasectomy, a reversible surgical procedure for male sterilization.

If you are a man who is not going to have a vasectomy, even if it is reversible, and you are not in the streets fighting for my rights, you do not deserve to have sex with me.

Separately, Maya Demri, a rape survivor, insisted that women must “do everything in their legal power to get our rights back” after the high court overturned the landmark abortion ruling.

I can’t sit here and imagine what my sisters in red states are going to do if they get pregnant from rape and need to not only carry the tragedy of the worst thing that ever happened to them, but carry it around for nine months. If this world thinks it can oppress women forever, then we shut our legs.
