The South Korean arm of World Vision, a charitable organization, has announced that it is ready to accept donations in crypto assets, as well as a limited edition NFT raffle.
World Vision has become the first South Korean NGO to accept donations in the form of virtual assets. The company entered into a partnership with the Publish crypto startup for the technological support of the project. The cooperation will allow World Vision to provide a cycle of accepting and converting charitable contributions into fiat currency in real time.
“We see among the participants in the crypto industry the desire to achieve positive social change through various charitable initiatives. Charity has always been a part of Publish. I hope our collaboration with World Vision will help promote the culture of donating cryptocurrencies,” said Publish CEO Sonny Kwon.
Sponsors will have access to the World Vision assistance program through the charity’s official website. Each donor, regardless of the amount of donations, will receive an individual NFT certificate. At the end of the year, a limited edition collection tokens will be drawn among the sponsors of the charitable program.
Last year, the non-profit charity Hearts & Homes for Refugees organized a cryptocurrency donation to help thousands of Afghan refugees who fled the country after the Taliban offensive.
