It is scientifically proven that, at every Bootcamp, the average viewer of X Factor get up off the couch at least a couple of times. The reason? Expressing amazement that the singer she cheered for at the Auditions surprisingly didn’t make it past the turn. On this round it happened twice: with Protto, the pianist that Manuel Agnelli considered unsuitable for the idea he has in mind to carry out for the composition of his team, and with Raffaella Scagliola, which Mika considered too immature – she is 16 – to continue her adventure within the program.
Bootcamps, as we know, are the most delicate moment of X Factor, perhaps more than Home Visits: they place the judges in front of five chairs that burn and force them to make painful choices that they may even regret. The game, however, has its own rules, and no one has ever held back for that.
The special thing about this edition is, however, the heterogeneity of the teams: for the first time in the history of X Factor, in fact, the competitors are no longer caged in the categories and can be selected by the judges freely, following a musical idea detached from the fact that those who sing are part of a group or are more or less than 25 or 30 years old. This relaxation, in Manuel Agnelli and in Mika, called to open the dances of these first Bootcamps, was perceived from start to finish, even if not for this reason the composition of the roster was easier. The absence of the public and colleagues, seated behind the scenes together with the host Ludovico Tersigni, did nothing but put the judge in front of himself, called to elaborate his own thought without the possibility of a comparison with anyone else. The most exciting moments were not lacking – like Manuel who was moved by Erio’s performance – together, of course, with the most unexpected ones, guaranteed by the crazy variables offered by the judges.

If Agnelli has often proved to be enigmatic and difficult to decrypt, as if behind his forelock he hid the smile of the Mona Lisa, Mika has confirmed himself as a decidedly adorable Rottermeier. The pop star, who according to Gabriele Corsi would be one step away from conducting the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, has, in fact, the rare gift of demolishing with a smile, of saying the most unpopular things but without arousing in the listener a reaction other than that of wanting to jump on him to scramble him with cuddles. X Factor is also this: the adrenaline is high, the competitors, for each roster, are reduced from 12 to 5, while the Live, which will start on October 28th on Sky Uno and streaming on NOW, they are getting closer and closer.
