At the second episode of the Auditions, X Factorthe Sky Original programme produced by Fremantle and broadcast every Thursday on Sky and streaming on NOW, warms up its engines and sees the judges are all hot to assert their own idea of music. When, for example, Martina Del Grosso sing Endless by Gino Paoli on the piano and explodes into an uninterrupted cry at the end, Jake The Fury he wonders if experiencing music in such a visceral way could be a double-edged sword in a competition like X Factor. «I, on the other hand, would only take those who live music like this», he answers Achilles Laurogiving rise to a discussion and a constructive exchange of opinions where the balance is represented by Mankind Agnelliwho after having scolded the girl for interrupting him while she was expressing her thoughts, decides to let her pass the selections and take her to the Bootcamps because “you have to prove to me the opposite of what I think of you”.
Shortly after the sparks resurface when they take the stage of X Factor she is the vocalist Sarah Russianwhich offers a pop piece that Lauro defines as “flat”. «There are also girls who do pop-dance», he answers him in kind Paola Iezzi who truly believes that, by working on it, the girl will be able to give her satisfaction. In the end, both Jake and Manuel say yes, even if they imply that they did it above all to please Paola and support her in having seen something in the girl to work on. Together to some moments of tension – like Federica who, after having sung the unreleased Rudeleaves the stage after the judges tell her she is not ready yet, without waiting for them to express their opinion -, emotions are pouring in especially after the performance of the rapper and producer John Meloniwho conquers everyone leaving Achille Lauro a little cold – who, however, runs to hug him after the boy tells him he is his idol -, and the duo of Fragmentswho, with their nerd vibes, promise to bring the judges by X Factor “in their attic” even though Jake thinks giving him a chance is a leap into the unknown.

The funniest moment of the episode, however, comes towards the end, when Laura Fetahuself-taught singer, offers a distorted version of Super Bass by Nicki Minaj proving not only that she has a great voice, but also a great charisma. Jake La Furia tells her that, if you haven’t already played the X Pass – that is, the passepartout to directly access the Bootcamp – at the first Audition, would have used it for her. Then Manuel Agnelli comes forward only that, a moment before he sets out his speech, Paola Iezzi sneaks in and uses her Pass to give Laura a chance. “See? By acting like a gentleman you always end up getting it in the a**”, jokes Manuel good-naturedly, demonstrating that this year more than ever the chemistry between the parties is bright and complicit. All this with the presenter Georgia increasingly immersed in the role of confidant and collector of confidences and emotions on the fly, demonstrating a rare and precious degree of empathy.
