On August 10, the parade of foldable smartphones will begin. The first novelty will be shown by Samsung, which announces the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, after which Motorola will take the baton. The American company has scheduled an event for August 11, where it will show the Razr 2022. People’s favorite, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi, does not want to be left behind the competition. The company has already announced that its next foldable smartphone, the Mix Fold 2, will also be unveiled on August 11.
Xiaomi posted a promotional image on the Weibo social network, which shows the silhouette of a smartphone with a metal hinge. There is no additional information on the picture, except for the date of the announcement and the Leica camera. The news about the collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica appeared in May this year. Then it was reported that both companies are working on a camera for the flagship smartphone.
The Mix Fold 2 is expected to inherit the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This means the device will most likely get an external display and fold inwards. Leaks suggest that Xiaomi’s new foldable smartphone will feature a conventional 6.5-inch external display and an 8-inch foldable screen. Both can get a 120Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer also took advantage of the LTPO technology and apparently solved the problem with the formation of wrinkles at the fold.

As for the hardware platform, the Mix Fold 2 is likely to be built on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
