Huami has officially unveiled the new Amazfit Pop Pro smartwatch, which is designed specifically for children. It is worth noting that the novelty comes out in China, and other Amazfit Pop Pro watches have been sold on the world market since last year.
Huami’s founder and CEO revealed that the company wanted to launch a children’s watch six years ago when it was working on its first smartwatch. However, the team turned down the offer, opting instead to release a smartwatch for adults. Nowadays, smartwatches for children are becoming more and more popular, so the company felt that at the moment it was definitely worth getting into the game.

Amazfit Pop Pro supports various sports modes including jumping rope, squatting, running to help kids improve their athletic ability. The watch also comes with 24-hour heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring and baby activity tracking. Huami also announced that it is partnering with research institutions to actively promote the prevention of asthma attacks in children with the watch.
The smartwatch supports 4G, video calls, the ability to take pictures, a personal assistant and is waterproof (IP68).
The price and other characteristics have not yet been announced.
