In anticipation of the MIUI 13 firmware release, the developers continue to release the latest updates for MIUI 12. Contrary to expectations, these updates Xiaomi not only “improves performance and fixes bugs”, but also rework some options – in particular, the option to display the current battery status. If earlier the firmware displayed the temperature of the battery as a percentage, now instead only a verbal description of the heating of the battery is available. This was announced by the Xiaomiui portal, having studied the latest closed beta version with the index 21.11.15 (patch 5.7.6-211112.0.1).
In a fresh assembly, instead of an accurate temperature reading, one of three values is displayed: Cool, Normal and Hot. Apparently, Xiaomi resorted to this solution due to the fact that the average person does not understand the state of the battery based on degrees. However, the innovation is unlikely to please advanced users – it was probably possible to save both the degrees and the verbal description.
Since the release of MIUI 13 is already on its way, and the above-described update appeared only in the closed beta version, we can safely assume that most of the users will see this innovation after the update to the next firmware version.
