In recent years, Xiaomi has been trying to cover all categories of smartphones, relying heavily on its sub-brands in the face of Redmi and POCO. But it seems that these companies are no longer enough: the Indian portal The Mobile Indian Network reported, citing local sources, that the Chinese company may introduce a new sub-brand for completely new models. The news was noticed by Gizmochina.
Indian sources do not know for sure what Xiaomi is preparing: either a new series of smartphones or a separate sub-brand. But the features of future new products are already known, the main one is a pure version of Android without the MIUI shell with guaranteed three-year system updates and four-year security patches. The company is expected to announce several of these smartphones at once, priced between $190 and $315, all powered by Qualcomm’s sub-flagship processors: the cheapest Snapdragon 765 and the most expensive Snapdragon 778.
Xiaomi already had a series of smartphones without MIUI (called Mi A), however, apparently, it was unsuccessful. However, according to insiders, against the backdrop of changes in OnePlus’ business and the decline in the popularity of Pixel smartphones in India, the manufacturer intends to re-release gadgets without proprietary firmware in order to occupy the vacant segment of devices for technology enthusiasts. It is also claimed that the production of new products will be carried out in India (the Mi A series was also produced in this country).
