One day after the death of Erasmo Carlos, the artist’s widow, Fernanda Esteves, used her Instagram profile to pay tribute to the artist, who will be veiled this Wednesday (23) in a closed place only for family and friends.
“You transcended, I was the one who died!”, he said in one of the posts in which he pays homage to Erasmo.
Fernanda and Erasmo had a relationship for 12 years, as she wrote in one of the posts. When Erasmo left the hospital during one of his hospital stays this month, he posted a photo of him and Fernanda on his profile, celebrating the “resurrection”, as he joked.
He died at Barra D’Or Hospital, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday (22) after presenting with an edemigenic syndrome, a disease that retains liquids in the bloodstream.
Over more than 60 years of career, there were more than 680 songs and 640 recordings. The artist left Fernanda and also three children.
A pioneer in Brazilian rock, Erasmo was part of Jovem Guarda, a Brazilian cultural movement of the 1960s, alongside Roberto Carlos and other great names in music that marked generations and the history of Brazilian music.
On Tuesday night, singer Roberto Carlos paid tribute to his friend on his Instagram profile. He posted a video with several photos with Erasmo, and the song “Amigo”, performed by both in different presentations, such as at Roberto’s 50th anniversary show, where Erasmo surprised him on stage.
“My pain is very great, I don’t even know how to say everything I think about my dear friend, my big brother. My idol for everything, for his loyalty, his intelligence, his kindness, for everything I know of him. A wonderful human being is my brother”, wrote Roberto Carlos.
