15 Villains ‘so good’ they stole the show from the hero of his story

There are times when movies and series do amazing jobs with their villains, so much so that they become everyone’s favorite characters. The level of evil that we can see on the screen, in the hands of actors and animated characters, simply blows our minds.

For this reason, in the following list we honor those antagonists who stole the Show and they crushed the heroes of their stories in popularity. Although we know there are many more, the following 15 were the most upvoted in a Reddit poll, where the question was “Who do you consider to be the best villain in a movie or series?“.

1. Anton Chigurh of No place for wimps

Anton Chigurh from No Room for Faints

One of the most memorable and terrifying characters in movie history. He made me realize that life can be very fragile and that when you least expect it, a stranger can turn into your worst nightmare.

2.Homelander’s The Boys

Homelander from The Boys

I love Homelander because there is no redemption in his character. He is just evil and powerful. Plus, he’s crazy.

3.Annie Wilkes of misery

 Annie Wilkes from Misery

When I finished watching this movie I couldn’t believe all the panic that a single woman could cause. Many villains on the list are male, it’s great to see an actress like Kathy Bates catch up with such memorable names as Darth Vader.

4. Hans Landa’s Inglorious Bastards

Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds

I never thought I could praise the performance of a Nazi serial killer. It’s disturbing to see him act without any remorse. He really stole the whole ‘show’.

5. Azula’s Avatar the last Airbender

Azula from Avatar The Last Airbender

Azula is particularly fantastic and terrifying because even without her powers (such as during the eclipse or when she plays Long Feng in Ba Sing Se), Team Aang is careful with her.

6. Cersei Lannister’s Game of Thrones

Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones

One of the most terrifying and calculating villains in movie history. Throughout the series I hoped that they would give her a dignified death at the level of her evil. But we all know how that ended. Cersei deserved more, much more.

7.Ramsay Bolton’s Game of Thrones

Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones

The most sadistic and mocking character that exists. He shows that it doesn’t matter if you don’t look like a villain, a good script can amaze. I’m sure Ramsay was the most hated character in the series, he was a monster.

8.Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Daredevil

Wilson Fisk Kingpin in Daredevil

Fisk got to a point where he seemed untouchable, he was just human, but by God, he seemed like something else. Considering that we are talking about a villain without any kind of superpower, Kingpin went a long way.

9. The Trinity Killer Dexter

Dexter's Trinity Killer

John Lithgow was absolutely stunning and beyond disturbing in this role. He made a series that was falling into monotony rise from the ashes.

10.Gus Fring’s breaking bad

Gus Fring from Breaking Bad

I came here to say this, and in a larger sense, Giancarlo Esposito plays villains so nuanced and just…terrifying. As Gus, he has an uncanny ability to go from mild-mannered to mild-mannered to sometimes even caring. But suddenly…cold as ice. Scary.

11.Darth Vader’s Star Wars

Darth Vader from Star Wars

Darth Vader must be one of the most iconic villains of all time. When they show us the origin of his evil, it was like giving the character more weight. He was only nine minutes in the first installment of ‘Star Wars’ and caused an impact worldwide.

12. John Silver the Long The treasure Planet

Long John Silver from Treasure Planet

No problem, they were able to make a movie just for John Silver. He is one of the most charismatic and complete villains in the Disney repertoire.

13. Yzma’s The Emperor’s Follies

Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove

Admittedly, Yzma is one of the villains with the most catchy phrases in Disney history. I liked ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’ in general, but when Yzma and Kronk were on the screen, it was definitely the best time.

14. Killmonger’s Black Panther

Killmonger from Black Panther

Killmonger is one of the nicest villains I’ve ever met, I wanted to agree with everything he said. He had a very interesting concept about good and evil.

15. Silco’s Arcane

Silco of Arcane

Silco carried a lot of weight, starting because he felt excluded and betrayed by his family and friends, which made his thirst for revenge very understandable. Also, the dubbing work is amazing, it allows you to immerse yourself in the evil of him from different angles.
