A 17-year-old young man was shot dead on Monday (20), on Estrada Velha do Aeroporto, in the Mussurunga neighborhood, in Salvador. The information comes from the Military Police.
According to the PM, agents from the 49th CIPM were called on Monday afternoon with information about a teenager being shot in São Cristóvão. When they arrived at the scene, they found Diego Jesus de Oliveira injured, and took the victim to the Menandro de Faria Hospital, in Lauro de Freitas, in the metropolitan region of the capital of Bahia. The young man did not survive his injuries.
The authorship and motivation of the crime are unknown and, according to the PM, will be investigated by the Civil Police. A CNN sought and requested more information about the case from the Civil Police, but did not receive a response until the publication of this report.
In a statement, the State Department of Education of Bahia (SEC) informed that it regrets the young man’s death. “Diego was a student at Colégio Estadual Raul Sá, located in the Mussurunga neighborhood. The SEC, as well as the management of the unit, is available to the student’s family and the entire school community in this moment of pain”, says the statement.
On social media, friends and family paid tribute and mourned Diego’s death. “Beautiful aunt, I love it, you will be missed”, wrote a relative. “You will always be remembered, life”, commented another follower.
