Xiaomi continues to publish teasers dedicated to the new flagships Xiaomi 12, and this time the company has revealed data on the sensors used in the main camera modules of the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. In both cases, the resolution is 50 megapixels and the manufacturer is the same – Sony, but the sensors themselves are different.

The Xiaomi 12 uses the IMX766 sensor – one of the most common sensors in mid to high end mobile devices. So, it is used in Vivo X70 Pro, Huawei Nova 9 Pro, Honor Magic 3 Pro, OnePlus Nord 2 and a number of other smartphones. Its optical format is 1 / 1.56 “, and Xiaomi points out that the sensor is larger than the iPhone 13. The Apple device uses a 1 / 1.88” sensor.

As for the Xiaomi 12 Pro, it received a Sony IMX707 sensor – a slightly improved version of the Sony IMX700. IMX700, in turn, is used in various Huawei flagships – Mate X2, P40 Pro, Honor 30 Pro. The optical format of this sensor is 1 / 1.28 inches, and it is obvious that in low light conditions it allows you to capture more light than the main Xiaomi 12 sensor. Also, Xiaomi compared the IMX707 with the sensor in the iPhone 13 Pro, and, of course, the Xiaomi sensor 12 Pro turned out to be larger. Recall that the official premiere of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will take place on December 28.
