After Iran attack, Hezbollah says it launched rockets at Israel's air defense headquarters

Lebanese radical Islamic group Hezbollah said it launched dozens of rockets toward the headquarters of Israel's air defense command, in the Golan Heights region, Syrian territory occupied by Israel.

Hezbollah's military action comes after ally and supporter Iran launched more than 100 drones against Israeli territory this Saturday (13), according to estimates by an authority from the Israel Defense Forces.

In Israel, the expectation is that attacks will approach the country in the coming hours. The Defense Forces are trying to track and intercept the drones, and an operation that should lead to outages in GPS services in certain locations in the country is being carried out.

Iran's retaliation was already predicted by Israeli authorities, after the Islamic Republic accused Israel of carrying out an attack on the country's diplomatic representation in Syria last week, amid the intensification of tensions between the two countries in recent months.

“The malicious Zionist regime will be punished,” said Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a social media post this Saturday.

Israeli territory is regularly the target of attacks by radical Islamic groups supported by Iran, such as Hezbollah itself and the Palestinian Hamas, but not directly by the Islamic Republic.
