AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS technologies were compared for the first time as correctly as possible. The fact is that the first one has now appeared in the games Necromunda: Hired Gun and Marvel’s Avengers, and the second was already there. Previously, comparisons were made in different games.
By the way, this is at the same time an answer to the question regarding the possibility of such a proximity of technologies, which was not initially clarified.
If we talk about Necromunda: Hired Gun, then the difference between technologies (in both cases the RTX 3090 was used) is very difficult to notice in the video. The author himself says that FSR has a slight advantage in performance and image quality in motion. But these are just minor differences, and very close performance even seems somewhat strange. It is also worth noting here that the comparison was made in 4K at maximum quality settings in both technologies.
In Marvel’s Avengers, we don’t have a video, but we do have screenshots.
Here you can see that DLSS performs better in drawing the cables of the bridge and the hair of the character. Moreover, specifically in these cases, the DLSS picture is better than the picture without any upscale technology! This is a good example for those who argue that DLSS always soap the image.
It is also worth noting here that for some reason the Quality preset was used for FSR, and not Ultra Quality.
