America Decides: CNN Brazil broadcasts live special program on the Republican Convention

A reference among Brazilian channels in the coverage of the United States presidential elections, CNN Brazil broadcasts a live program on July 18 about the Republican National Convention.

The program América Decide – Republican Convention will be shown from 11 pm, live, on CNN Brazil for the whole country, through channel 577 and YouTube.

It will bring all the information, from expectations to repercussions, of the event that should make Donald Trump official as the Republican candidate.

The anchoring of América Decide – Republican Convention will be by Thais Herédia, with analyses by Fernanda Magnotta, Lourival Sant’Anna and Américo Martins.

Direct from the United States, reporters Marcelo Medeiros, in Milwaukee, and Mariana Janjácomo, in New York, bring the Brazilian public the current “temperature” in yet another important step in the American elections.

The US election is scheduled for November 5th this year.

What is the Republican National Convention?

The Republican Party National Convention is the event in which the “delegates” – a figure in the US electoral system – will officially choose who will represent the party in the elections.

This year’s event takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15 to 18.

Donald Trump easily won the party’s primary elections, securing enough delegates to run in the 2024 elections.

Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, who challenged the former president for the Republican nomination in the election, ended up dropping out of the race and announcing their support for Trump.

On July 18th, when the CNN Brazil will broadcast the special program America Decides live, delegates will officially vote for Donald Trump as the party’s nominee.

The former US president is expected to speak at the event on that day.

Additionally, protests are expected at two locations near the Republican Convention.
