The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) released the 5G internet signal to the capitals of four more states: Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Espírito Santo and Tocantins.
Anatel’s forecast is that Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, Vitória and Palmas will have the 5G signal activated as of next Monday (22).
The decision to release the signal in these capitals was taken this Thursday (18), at a meeting of the Monitoring Group for the Implementation of Solutions for Interference Problems in the 3,625 to 3,700 MHz band (Gaispi).
However, as there is a deadline for payment of fees and the respective bank clearing of the payment, the activation of the signal is only scheduled for the next week.
According to Anatel, Gaispi is made up of representatives from Anatel, the Ministry of Communications, the companies bidding on the winning bids in the 3.5 GHz band, broadcasters and satellite operators. The creation of the group was established through the so-called 5G Auction.
