At least 4 dead from Russian strikes in Kharkiv and Donetsk

At least 4 people were killed and 10 others were injured today by Russian strikes in eastern Ukraine, local authorities said. The city of Kupyansk, in northeastern Ukraine, was hit by a thermobaric bomb, injuring 11 people, the governor of Kharkiv said in a Telegram post. Later, a 73-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries in a hospital, Oleh Sinekhubov added. A two-story building was completely destroyed, as were dozens of stalls in an open-air market, while windows of houses were broken. Kupyansk fell to Russian forces a few weeks after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, but was liberated in September of the same year. In recent months, Moscow’s forces have been slowly advancing on the city and are said to have come to within 4 kilometers of its northernmost suburbs.
