The largest asphalt intervention project ever auctioned in Athens is in full swing, with a budget of 42 million euros.
About 1,200 roads and side streets will be asphalted gradually and after the completion of the project, about 450 kilometers of the approximately 1,000 kilometers of the total road network of Athens will finally have normal roads.
This is a “mammoth” program, which upgrades the infrastructure of the city, improves the traffic conditions of the vehicles and changes the image in the center and the neighborhoods.
In one of the many autopsies in the places where the workshops work, Costas Bakogiannis was in Kato Patisia. He saw the progress of the works, talked to the employees at the project but also citizens and with a post on fb announced that 690 roads have already been paved with new asphalt with a final goal of 1200!
“In all the neighborhoods of Athens, on small and large roads. 690 asphalt pavements already and we continue every day, with a plan and strategy, to exceed 1200, ie half of the road network. The city changes everywhere, little by little, with a lot of work” .
