Bashar al-Assad re-elected president of Syria with 95.1%

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was re-elected for a fourth seven-year term in office with 95.1% of the vote, announced the speaker of the Syrian Parliament, after the elections denounced as anti-democratic by the opposition and the western countries.

The other two candidates, Abdallah Salum Abdallah and Mahmoud Murray received 1.5% and 3.3% of the vote respectively.
