Beco do Batman, in the west zone, turns into a “river” during rain in SP; look

The passage known as Beco do Batman, in the west of São Paulo, became “Aquaman Alley” during the storm that hit the capital of São Paulo this Friday afternoon (24).

Images recorded by residents of the region show a strong flood in Beco do Batman, which looked like a river during the storm.

The heavy rain that hit the capital of São Paulo this Friday and left the city on alert for flooding for just over two hours, according to the Climate Emergency Management Center of the City of São Paulo (CGE).

There were no injuries reported.

During the storm, part of the roof of the Centro Norte shopping center collapsed.

The storm caused flooding in the city and affected the public transport system. The capital experienced more than 1,000 kilometers of congestion at the end of the afternoon, according to the Traffic Engineering Company (CET). On the subway, the Jardim São Paulo station, on line 1-blue, flooded. The water generated a “waterfall” on the station stairs.

At Congonhas airport, two landings and two takeoffs were canceled, according to Aena.
