THE blurthe much-loved Britpop band from the Nineties onwards, are the first guest of the Lucca Summer Festival: after the concert-event in London on July 8, the group will be in Italy on July 22, 2023, in the area of ​​the historic walls of the city, in the only Italian stop (pre-sales of tickets open on 2 December). For the occasion Damon AlbarnGraham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree will lead the stage their cult songson the occasion of the reunion that has already sent fans into a frenzy because the group hasn’t performed in Italy since 2013.

The frontman commented: «We really love playing these songs and we thought it was time to do it again.” Colleague Graham Coxon added: “I’m really looking forward to playing with my Blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs. Blur lives are always fantastic for me. A nice guitar and a blasting amp and lots of smiling faces.’ Alex James echoes him «there is always something really special when the four of us walk into a room». Completing the picture of enthusiastic comments Dave Rowntree: «After the chaos of the last few years, it’s great to get back to playing some songs together on a summer day. Hope to see you there.”

Yet the guests who will accompany Blur in the Tuscan performance have not been disclosed but the appointment is already historic in itself. Obviously it is still too early to know the lineup of performances but it will certainly draw on the hits of the past with a very powerful nostalgia effect. Together the group has released cult albums after the debut with Leisure (among which park life, The Great Escape, blur, 13 And Tink Tank) ringing singles to the top of the charts around the world. Also The Magic Whip of 2015 won the top positions, confirming a following that shows no sign of diminishing.

Lucca Summer Festival meanwhile, he has already announced other guests, all in July 2023: Simply Red the first, One Republic on the 16th and Checco Zalone on the 21st.
