Carnival 2025: Oswald de Andrade hosts street blocks this weekend in SP

The Oswald de Andrade Building, located in the Bom Retiro neighborhood, in São Paulo, hosts a series of street blocks for the kickoff of the street Carnival in the capital of São Paulo this weekend.

This Saturday (11), the space hosts “Grito de Carnaval”, an open event organized by the Union of Street Carnival Blocks of the State of São Paulo that aims to open work towards this year’s Carnival. Batuq do Glicério, the women’s drum group Elas Que Tocam and Falo Show will be there. The party runs from 2pm to 6pm and has free entry, including the opening of the Oswald PRO Carnaval exhibition, held in collaboration with the Independent League of Samba Schools of São Paulo (Liga-SP).

The Gal Total block, which pays homage to the singer Gal Costa, in turn, takes over the Oswald de Andrade Building and holds its open rehearsal on Sunday (12), starting at 2pm. Entry is also free, but the block provides a PIX key for anyone who wants to contribute to the entity. The Espetacular Charanga do França also has an open rehearsal on Sunday; They perform at Casa de Francisca, in the Sé region, and head towards Vale do Anhagabaú.
