Chris Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, are receiving criticism on social media due to the demolition of a house renowned for its architecture in California, USA.
According to the TheGuardian, the couple purchased the 1950s mansion known as Zimmerman House in Los Angeles, in 2023. The house had been designed by the famous architect in the middle of the last century Craig Ellwood had landscaping by Garrett Eckbo and had already been featured in the magazine Progressive Architecture .
They would have demolished the mansion and would be building a new residence to live in from scratch.
A post from last year on the Instagram account of the Los Angeles Convervancy, an organization dedicated to documenting and preserving historic landmarks in the city, lamented the proposed demolition of the house, which is described as “a notable example of period modernist design” of the 2000s. 1950.
According to the post, the house had been identified as “potentially historic”, but did not have “any protection”.
