Sentenced to 30 years in prison for the death of his daughter Isabella Nardoni, prisoner Alexandre Nardoni was released by the courts to spend the end of the year festivities in a beach house on the coast of São Paulo
Judge Gabriela Marques da Silva Bertoli accepted Nardoni’s defense request to travel to the city of Guarujá, in Baixada Santista. It will be located in a high-end condominium in the Jardim Acapulco neighborhood.
Nardoni was released to stay on the coast between December 23rd of this year and February 3rd, 2025.
In the decision, it is highlighted that there are conditions to be followed by the detainee, such as remaining at the registered residence during rest between 8pm and 6am and not going to bars, gaming houses or places that are not compatible with the benefit granted by the Court.
Open regime
In May of this year, the Court granted Alexandre Nardoni a sentence extension, which was transferred to the open regime. He served more than half of his prison sentence after being convicted of Isabella’s death.
Judge José Loureiro Sobrinho’s decision went against the opinion of the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office, which claimed that the prisoner does not meet the subjective requirements for progression.
However, the judge stated that the defendant maintains good prison conduct, has a defined procedural status and has served more than half of his sentence. Furthermore, according to the judge, he is taking advantage of temporary releases, returning to prison normally.
Remember the case
Alexandre Nardoni was convicted of murdering his 5-year-old daughter Isabella Nardoni in 2008. His then-wife, Anna Carolina Jatobá, Isabella’s stepmother, was also convicted.
Isabella Nardoni was thrown from the sixth floor of her father’s building, in the north of São Paulo. The investigation revealed that Isabella was attacked by Anna Carolina Jatobá, who choked and asphyxiated her. Alexandre then allegedly cut the protective net and threw the girl. Isabella died on the way to the hospital.
Anna Carolina Jatobá left prison last year, after also progressing to the open regime.
