Denmark, Norway and Sweden suspend consideration of asylum applications from Syrian refugees

Denmark, Norway and Sweden announced today that they are suspending the processing of asylum applications for Syrian refugees, a day after the fall of Bashar al-Assad. The Danish Refugee Council has “decided to suspend the processing of cases related to persons originating from Syria, due to the highly uncertain situation in the country after the fall of the Assad regime,” it said in a press release. The decision currently concerns 69 cases, it is clarified.
