After an argument, a 24-year-old man took a car and entered the Estádio Municipal Radialista Mário Helênio, in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, and killed a 56-year-old woman, who was run over, in the early hours of this Saturday (9), according to the Fire Department.
The Dairy Tournament of Champions event was taking place there. Another 11 people were hit and survived, according to the Minas Gerais Civil Police.
Firefighters reported that two victims are intubated, including the author; a child was helped by his own means; and four others were taken by ambulance to health units in the region.
The victim’s body was sent to the Juiz de Fora Medical-Legal Center for examination.
The Civil Police stated that they sent official expertise to the location to carry out investigations.
In an official note, Juiz de Fora City Hall regretted what happened.
“We express our solidarity with the victims and regret that an event so important for the city and region, so well organized, has been marred by this sad occurrence. As a sign of mourning and out of respect for the victims, we announce the suspension of the event”, announced the municipal administration.
