Emily Blunt plans to take her parents to the Oscars

No one is more proud of the nomination of Emily Blunt to the Oscar than his parents, Oliver and Joanna Blunt . The actress of “Oppenheimer ” hopes that his biggest fans – his parents – can be by his side on the biggest night in cinema: the Oscars.

“I’m going to take John [Krasinski] and I hope I can take my parents too, they are looking forward to it”, said Blunt in an interview with the magazine People, which was published this Monday (04). The actress also said that the awards weekend will be the same as her father's birthday.

Blunt received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance in “Oppenheimer” as Kitty Oppenheimer, wife of Robert J. Oppenheimer, who is played by Cillian Murphy. It is the first Oscar nomination in Blunt's career.

The actress's parents accompanied her to the BAFTAs in London at the beginning of the month. She also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.

As for the two daughters she has with Krasinski, Blunt said that they will not be able to attend the awards. However, they can “stay up and watch” the Oscars from home.

“Oppenheimer” received a total of 13 nominations, including Best Film, and leads as the feature with the most nominations. Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. were also nominated in the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor categories, respectively.

Blunt said that she is immensely grateful for the friendship she formed with the film's other protagonists, who call themselves “Oppenhomies”. “I'm glad we have each other. I feel like we were a great team on this 'Oppenheimer' trip, which looks like it will last longer than any of us could dream.”

Blunt was also nominated for a Golden Globe, Critics Choice Awards and SAG Awards for her performance in “Oppenheimer.”

The 2024 Oscars will take place next Sunday (10), with Jimmy Kimmel as the presenter.
