Almost no one is oblivious to the environmental impact that the hand of man has caused in the world and we say almost no one because unfortunately there are those who live in blissful ignorance and prefer to pretend that nothing is happening. However, this indifference can be very expensive for us, because even if we improve our habits individually, they do not stand up to the conglomerate of industries responsible for the greatest amount of pollution, which is why protests become one of our best weapons.
We know that many people are uncomfortable with the subject and it is completely normal, since behind it, there may be fear, anxiety or even apathy. Even so, environmentalists do not stop before criticism or repression because they understand that behind their actions, there is an absolute truth: Survival.
This is how the Just Stop Oil group of activists has understood it, who, throughout this year, have staged some of the most notorious protests around the world, such as throwing canned food at various historical works of art, from The sunflowersby Vincent van Gogh, The girl of the pearlby Johannes Vermeer, and the wax figure of King Carlos III.
In addition to these actions, it has been common for the members of the association to meet to throw paint at certain buildings responsible for the greatest emissions of fossil fuels, such as Ferrari, Bugatti and Bentley, in London, United Kingdom. However, for their most recent attack they concentrated on the Barclays Bank, where the offices of the Shell oil company, located in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland, are also located.

With their signature orange paint, Just Stop Oil members took over the front of the office, filling it with vibrant color. Although they achieved the purpose of the operation, one of the members drew bad attention by also filling herself with varnish when throwing it, which earned her much ridicule and an unexpected focus of attention that was not the original protest.
After noticing the stains on her skirt, she makes a face that easily expresses that she knows what’s coming online, that is, criticism and ridicule for a minor and insignificant incident. Either way, the young woman, who gave her name as Lee, 22, delivered her speech with a little embarrassment but just as forceful. This one goes like this:
Today I threw paint on the Silver Fin building that houses the Barclays office because if my generation is to have a future, we must use non-violent direct action to stop the destructive activities we have seen from companies like Barclays.
