Fans detained in Salvador are removed from the stadiums and will have to report to the police on game days

Five fans will need to comply with a measure to stay away from the stadiums under the supervision of the Military Police of Bahia (PM-BA), through the Specialized Events Policing Battalion (Bepe). They were arrested after a widespread fight last Saturday (9), in the Itapuã neighborhood, in Salvador. The confusion occurred between supposedly organized groups from Vitória and Corinthians, who faced each other that same day at Barradão.

The decision came after a custody hearing this Monday (11), where the five were placed on provisional release. According to the PM, the decision will take effect in the next round of the Brazilian Championship, on November 20th.

Among the measures is the obligation to present themselves at Bepe headquarters four hours before the start of the matches and will be released just two hours after the end.

Furthermore, the five are prevented from attending fan meetings or parties, and such measures must be followed until the final sentence is reached or the precautionary measure is revoked.

The other fans apprehended in the situation, four adults and one teenager, are still being monitored by the unit’s command, who said they hope their case will be analyzed by the courts.

According to military police, on the day of the attack, two iron bars, four wooden bars and a brass knuckle were seized from this group. The suspects were charged with corruption of minors (as a teenager was present and was apprehended), robbery and fight between fans.
