Fishermen become millionaires when they find ambergris in a whale’s stomach

People always hope to win the lottery after buying a ticket, but luck is where you least imagine; for example, in the stomach of a whale, as happened to a group of 35 fishermen in Yemen.

The fishermen were near the Gulf of Aden, off the coast of Seriah, in Yemen, when they saw the carcass of a floating whale. They drove it to the beach to see if they could take advantage of its meat and blubber, but what the whale had in its stomach was far more valuable. This is how they won the lottery.

Now they are men of great fortune

Ambergris is a dark, slimy substance that sometimes also has shades similar to marble and is produced in the digestive system of whales. But you will ask yourself: “why is it so valuable?” Good, because it is a material that is used in perfumery as a fixative. Normally a few grams are extracted from the whales or if you are lucky, it is floating in the sea or on the sand of the coast. But the exaggerated amount that these fishermen found automatically made them millionaires, because by selling it, they obtained large amounts of money.

They knew they were winning the lottery

When the fishermen perceived the smell that this unique substance gives off, they knew that they were in front of a great find, since ambergris is considered pure gold in the world of perfumery. For some years now, Yemen has experienced a situation of poverty, which during the pandemic worsened even more, so by selling this product, the fishermen surely improved their economy a lot.

They already planned what to do with their money

The large amount of ambergris was valued at 1.5 million dollars, which will have to be distributed among 35 people, but in the same way, each one will have a large amount of money. Once they received the news of how much they will receive, some announced that they would use the money to buy new houses, cars and boats to continue working. In addition, they will donate a portion to the poorest members of their community.

These fishermen were very fortunate, as only 1 to 5 percent of the whales can produce this substance, and it is almost always a small amount. For them, fortune came when they least expected it.
