Flordelis’ adopted son will serve time in the semi-open

The Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro decided on Monday (23) to grant the progression from the closed to the semi-open regime to Lucas Cézar dos Santos Souza, son of former federal deputy Flordelis dos Santos de Souza. The decision was handed down by the Criminal Execution Court.

Lucas was initially sentenced, in November 2021, to seven and a half years in prison for involvement in the death of Pastor Anderson do Carmo, his adoptive father and husband of Flordelis. Shortly afterwards, following a request from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the sentence was increased to nine years. He has been in prison since November 2021.

Lucas’ defense informs that he received this Tuesday the granting of regime progression, but there is still no forecast for his release from prison. The lawyer informed that she will go to the prison unit to give the news to Lucas next Friday (27).

It has not yet been defined whether he will need to use an electronic anklet or not.

Condemnation of Flordelis

Former congresswoman Flordelis was sentenced in November last year to 50 years and 28 days in prison for triple murder, attempted double murder, in addition to using a false document and armed criminal association because of Anderson’s death, which occurred in June 2019.

The decision was taken by the 3rd Criminal Court of Niterói after more than six days of trial by popular jury. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Flordelis was responsible for planning her husband’s murder, in addition to having convinced the direct executor and other accused to participate in the crime under the simulation of robbery, having also financed the purchase of the weapon. and warned about the arrival of the victim at the place where he was executed.

According to the investigations pointed out in the complaint, the crime was motivated because the victim kept strict control of the family finances and managed conflicts in a rigid way, not allowing privileged treatment to the people closest to the former deputy to the detriment of other family members.

In all, six defendants involved in Anderson’s death have already been convicted.
